Marketing Analyst / Business Intelligence Analyst

Playbook Media is looking for an enthusiastic, performance-oriented Marketing Analyst to support our business intelligence team in delivering reporting dashboards, marketing analysis and insights, which our teams use to inform and drive our clients’ marketing growth.  


About This Role:

The ideal candidate is excited to work with data and translate information into actionable insights and visualizations. You are a strong communicator and can independently task-manage multiple projects. You rise to a challenge and love to dig deep to find insights. You encompass a professional growth mindset. You have at least 1 year in a data analytics role, preferably within a marketing department or business intelligence team.  You have experience working with SQL, GTM, and data visualization.

 Role Responsibilities:

  • Track, report, and analyze the performance of marketing activities, perform ad-hoc analytic requests, and develop and automate regular reports
  • Support the marketing team with building and maintaining dashboard reporting for internal and client-facing tracking and analysis
  • Provide support in maintaining data systems
  • Manage tagging, auditing and troubleshooting tracking issues in analytics tools such as GTM and Google Analytics
  • Assist with business analytics, scenario planning, attribution analysis, and statistical testing frameworks  
  • Work independently in a remote work setting
  • Report into to the Director of Analytics


Role Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of business acumen
  • Proven ability in handling concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Curiosity and collaborative data-driven mindset, demonstrate process and skills improvement and flexibility to adapt to new/unfamiliar tools
  • Possess a team-oriented problem-solving attitude
  • Willingness to dive in and self-learn new technical skills and work through problems independently 
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and numerical fluency
  • Basic experience with SQL (must) and R (nice to have but not required)
  • Understanding of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics and desire to become the resident expert in all things GTM-related
  • Experience with regression analysis, various statistical analysis and testing techniques, ability to analyze A/B and multivariate test results
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Data Studio, Tableau, or similar)
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, Marketing, Business, Economics
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in marketing analytics, statistical or data analysis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Statistical Software (JMP, SAS, or similar)
  • API experience (working with, not building)
  • Familiar with HTML, CSS3, or JavaScript
  • Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics or similar web analytics platforms, or desire to learn
  • Understanding of Data Science methodologies
  • Digital marketing exposure and marketing platforms (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Agency, business intelligence, or marketing department experience
